"If god had wanted you to live...."

Well, even if you respawn, one's mercenary death shall be remembered.
A man, amongst billions.
A rough man, a rude man, a big-mouth man.
But a man who truly loved his country, his job, his duties, his teammates.
A man who was in a team, who led a team, who pushed a team, and brought a victory.

A man who loved life.

Such a man deserve to rest in peace.

EDIT: a totally rushed story, thanks to :iconfrost-of-fire:

The heavy and the medic had been torn off by a kritzkrieged heavy. The main powerhouse of the BLUs was down. Both of the offensive and support were off. Sentries well still up, and the opponent heavy-medic duo was rampaging trough the ranks.

As Jane was moving back to the line, after he went back for some ammo, he crossed on the way several teammates, a demo, a scout, and an engi, moving back, running, fleeing the field. As he reached back the front, he realized that the death of the german doctor and the russian gunner brought the panic amongst the ranks.

Filled with rage, upon seeing the death of his teammates, with shame, upon seeing the panic and despair, and panic -what should i do?, the BLU Soldier unconsciensously kept marching forward.
Upon realizing his movement, he then stopped straight away. One part was shouting to himself to haul ass and get away. The other part made him grab his bugle. Yes, a bugle. No special effect, nothing. Just a bugle. And blew it. He blew it so loudly it was heard to the spawn, of both team. He kept blewing in it, as more teammates were fleeing.

And then, the miracle occurs.

Seeing this Soldier getting more lonely every second that passed, one engi realized the real bravery of the man. And said to himself that he'd rather die as a brave than die as a coward and let his fellow teammates on the field unavenged.
"You ain't dying alone, pardner" as he armed his shotgun.
Upon seeing this, a demoman didn't think of letting his explosive buddy alone. And such a chain brought back the team.

"Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge!" as the Soldier shouted to bring himself much needed courage. As he was in his frenzy, he didn't notice the teammates that actually had come back to the call of the bugle -and the bravery. The Soldier turned back, saw them. Not saying a word, keepin' his usual frowned facial expression, he then started marching forward.

And screamed one famous line if his: "last one alive, lock the door!". He knew this could be a slaughter, and that may none may survive. Still, it was worth a last shot.

A furious battle engaged. He brought up his rocket launcher. All his BLU teammates armed their weapons.

On the last area of Dustbowl, the BLU squad penetrated on the last open area, whr they could se the point from. Led by the craziest -or bravest- man of the BLUs, they attacked as one, yet were shouting various lines: "let's have a go at it, mates!", "zey will never see it coming", or some "NONE OF YOU is gonna survive this".

The REDs, beeing so confident after their rampage, were calmly enjoying their "easy" victory. One engi was leaning on his sentry, next to the point. A sniper was having a coffee. And all those men turned from utter confidence to astounishment: they hav no chance, yet they attack?
Taken by surprise, the REDs tried to get back in position as the BLU block started attacking.
"If charging and fighting sure leads to victory, they you must fight". Sun Tzu said that. He also said something about surprise, that was totally working here...

The laid-back engi, still at a safe range, brought up his wrangler, with a smile on his face, seeing more score to do. All he could do was to get a BLU bullet in the head, with the sniper waving him. Seeing the sentry deactivated, Tavish mad short work of it with his stickies. Theywere moving as a block: the demo, the scout, the soldier, the engi and the pyro. As they kept shooting and blowing evrything around, the pyromaniac protected his fellow from rockets, grenades, stickies, using his trusted airblast.

Totally stunned by such a mighty trust, th whole RED squad melted like ice in summer: rockt'd, snip'd, bat'd, backstabb'd, everything. As they crossed the bridge, the death duo took place on the final point: the heavy and the medic.
The russian gunner started shooting at the mass, and targeted the Soldier, leader of the group: shoud he fall, maybe those damn BLUs would panic.

Realizing that, Jane aimed downward, and performed his well known rocket jump. And the RED Heavy locked his aim on him, leaving the other BLUs shooting them. And a nade rolled between the legs of the huge man, to blow up the german healer. Upon understanding what had just happenned, the RED Heavy lowered his gun, and shouted in rage while taking aim on the group.

The Soldier, still in the air, dropped is weapon, grabbed his two grenades, and armed them. And as he started to feel the gravity bringing him back to the ground, his legendary cry was heard one last time.

"Screaaaaaamin' eaaaaaaagleeeeees!"

It was over.
BLU won.
And the only thing left to the savior of the team was one helmet, and on shovel.
